Celebrity News: ‘The K2’ Star Ji Chang Wook, BIGBANG’s T.O.P enlist for military services?
All males in South Korea are expected to serve in the military for at least 21 months. This can lead for many K-Pop boy groups to be on break or lose a member temporarily.
iTech Post reported that "The K2" lead actor Ji Chang Wook is one of the celebrities that is thinking about enlisting in the military soon. "The K2" has just ended where he starred alongside Girls' Generation Im Yoona and Song Yoon Ah.
The actor revealed that he is expecting summons sometime in February or March next year. He added that he doesn't know the exact date of the enlistment but he said that it will definitely happen in the next year.
He explained that delaying this would be very difficult for him. However, he hinted that he is planning to complete another project before he will enlist in the military.
"The K2" was packed with action scenes and Ji Chang Wook revealed that he is not planning on making another project in that genre in the near future. He explained that doing action can be very demanding and strenuous, that is why he is never going to do it again.
Elsewhere, Chatt Sports Net reported that BIGBANG's T.O.P is expected to enlist in the military in three months' time. Fans know that every member of the group would eventually need to enlist in the future and since T.O.P is the oldest in the group, a lot of fans have predicted that he would be the first to go.
It was reported that the official acceptance to the Seoul District Police Conscripted Policemen was revealed on Nov. 14 but it was announced by the National Police Agency last Nov. 11. It was said that the BIGBANG member will be part of the Special Forces brass band.
Many fans are wondering how this would affect the group's upcoming January concert. However, there are reports that T.O.P will enlist after the January concert so this could mean that the fans will still be able to see all five of them in the event.
