Rey's mysterious personality adds spice to "Star Wars 8" story, makes movie even more worth watching
This is by far the most intriguing sequel for Star Wars and the unending curiosity of fans as to what will happen after The Force Awakens. One intriguing character that the film started to introduce on its 7th episode is Rey, the abandoned child in Jakku who survived out of scavenging.
Her lineage poses a mystery from the beginning, but all the reasons pointed out to why she was left at an early age without any relatives to care for her. As Star Wars 8 nears to a 12-month waiting period to be released, it seems that the mysteries that surround its plot are a million light years away from being discovered.
Rey's parentage was the first question that came in after The Force Awakens introduced her as a scavenger turned Jedi. Since Jedi's are not only trained, they should manifest the Force in them, which Rey got a passing mark. The Force will have to come from a lineage either from a Skywalker or a Resistance agent, as Movie Pilot reports, for the reason that they want to hide her identity.
Then there is this one reason why Rey was abandoned, and the motive is something that came out of the tube. Since the film is already in a futuristic era, Rey may be an experiment by Snoke done in Jakku, by using Luke Skywalker's DNA from his severed hand. Sports Rageous expounded on to the idea that because of Snoke's interest to the Skywalker bloodline, it conducted the experiment but thought that it turned out to be a flop, without knowing Rey's development.
For now, director Rian Johnson has kept his lips tight which left avid fans to feel the thrill of waiting and wondering why Star Wars 8 is considered "weird" by legendary Star Wars screenwriter, Lawrence Kasdan. There will be a lot of speculation and ideas that will eventually cross the mind until the first trailer is shown for Star Wars 8.
