Stephen Curry exchanges jerseys, signs autographs for a 7-year-old fan with leukemia
Golden State Warrior player Stephen Curry had a heartwarming visit with his avid fan Brody Stephen, a 7-year old boy battling cancer in Riley's Hospital for Children, Sunday. Brody Stephen went through a lot of his treatment ever since he was a baby when he was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.
Although he was cleared after chemotherapy, the young basketball star in New Palestine suddenly felt tired after a game and there a new disease came out. Despite his illness, he never stops to support his favorite Warriors team and thus prompted the greatest shooter in NBA History to visit him.
Stephen Curry together with head coach Steve Kerr surprised Brody Stephen as he was about to sleep after a very tedious bone marrow transplant, as Fox 59 reports. But the boy became "better than he's been in a very long time upon seeing Curry right in front of him, wearing yellow gown and mask. Brody Stephen was isolated due to a virus threat after his recent bone marrow transplant, thus visitors should be careful not to pass any virus from outside to add up to his predicament.
The spirit of happiness that Brody Stephen felt while Stephen Curry talked to him, signing all of his card collection and giving him signed jerseys, T-shirts, and a basketball was truly priceless. As reported by SFGate, the visit lasted for more than an hour, with Stephen Curry equally surprised when Brody gave his "BrodyStrong" bracelet. The bracelet was worn after in a game against the Pacers and coach Kerr thought that it brought good luck when the Warriors won 120-83 against them Monday night.
Brody Stephen has been staying 90 days already at Riley Hospital and the 7-year old kid has watched every game making it his inspiration to live. Likewise, the strong boy already gave inspiration to Curry's team and to those battling with the same disease.
