Pizza Man's Cocaine Delivery: Papa John's Employee Arrested For Distributing The Drug Via Insulated Pizza Box, Details
A pizza deliveryman was reportedly incarcerated for selling in excess of $40,000 in cocaine while using his position as a way to distribute the illegal drug to his customers.
According to the Christian Post, Papa John's employee Ramon Rodriguez, 45, was charged with multiple counts of selling a controlled substance and one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Over the past couple of years, Rodriguez allegedly sold cocaine to undercover police officers a minimum of 19 times. However, he was ultimately busted on Thursday while attempting to sell a kilo of the drug for $27,500 to another undercover officer.
The cocaine was concealed inside a Papa John's insulated pizza box that Rodriguez regularly used to deliver the goods. The officers discovered $4,500 in cash and drug paraphernalia after conducting a search on his residence.
Jonathon Martinez was also put under arrest for dealing drugs to the undercover officers after Rodriguez assisted the undercover police in arranging a meeting with him. Martinez had sold 40 grams of cocaine for $1,200 to an undercover officer in 2011.
Papa John's is one of the highest-grossing pizza chains in the country. The company still hasn't addressed the situation that occurred with Rodriguez.
