Oakland police are seeking help to identify two suspects that killed two Golden State Warriors fans in a reported shooting Thursday night after the Warriors game against the San Antonio Spurs at Oakland's Oracle Arena .

Two men, identified as residents of Contra Costa County, were apparently heading home after the game on Interstate 880 in a white Porsche Panamera. An unidentified person in a dark-colored SUV opened fire with a semi-automatic pistol. The driver of the Porsche, 30-year-old Christopher Beardon, of Pittsburg, was killed by the bullets. The passenger, 28-year-old Terrance Marks, of Richmond, fled or was ejected from the car when it struck the guardrail and veered into traffic. He was struck and killed by an oncoming car. He also had been shot.

Police are seeking help from Warriors fans who were at the game and studying surveillance video from the Oracle Arena in hopes of identifying the possible suspects. The two men were leaving the arena about 10:35 p.m., when the shooting broke out, Oakland police spokesperson Johanna Watson said Friday.

The victims were wearing Warriors clothing and had tickets to the playoff game on Thursday, which were found inside their 2010 Porsche Panamera.

Police said it appears the people in the two cars were shooting at each other. The people in the second car have not been found. Witnesses told authorities the second car may have been a dark-colored SUV.

Police do not believe it was a road rage incident based on the evidence, including the number of shots fired.

Officers were processing the highway at Jackson Street, looking for shell casings to collect more evidence. Oakland police will be handling the homicide investigation.

The freeway was shut down for hours, causing major traffic for people leaving the Golden State Warriors game. The team lost, 94-82, to the San Antonio Spurs in Game 6, ending their season. The highway was re-opened at 2:30 a.m. Friday.

According to NBC Bay Area News, the killings brought Oakland's homicide numbers up to 37 so far this year. Last year at this time, there were 46.
