Kanye West Scandal: Rapper Pays Family Member $250K Following Sex Tape Leak Threats [VIDEO]
One of the main reasons for the sudden change in the behavior of famous rap artist, Kanye West, may just have been revealed. Reports are now claiming that Kanye was apparently blackmailed by one of his own relatives, who reportedly had a sex video that showed him having intercourse with a woman that was not his wife.
The Life of Pablo artist was reportedly forced to pay $250,000 to an unnamed relative who threatened to leak the video if he was not paid. Kanye's cousin, Lawrence Franklin, recently confirmed in an interview that that the sex video did in fact exist, and that the reports were true that the one who had it was their relative.
In Franklin's interview with Daily Mail, it was revealed that the video was of Kanye and a light-skinned black woman, who was not Kim Kardashian. Franklin also mentioned that he first saw the video at his aunt's house, where the family member showed the sex video to everyone. The video apparently clearly shows Kanye engaging in sexual acts with an unidentified woman.
To be fair, the sex tape itself was found on Kanye's laptop, the same one he gave to the family member as a gift, back in 2012. This was during the time when Kanye was still courting Kim, so he was not in any way cheating on her.
According to reports, the family member was receiving offers for the tape from various companies, which even included a porn website. The entire situation forced Kanye to pay the family member the huge amount in order for it not to be leaked to the public. Franklin even mentions that Kanye no longer trusts anyone, even those close to him, because of what happened.
According to Franklin, the incident itself was one of the biggest factors that triggered Kanye's recent mental breakdown. A report from TMZ revealed that the famous rapper was recently checked in to a Los Angeles hospital to undergo psych evaluation after he was found behaving erratically.
