Super Mario Odyssey is Nintendo's latest Mario game. The new adventure is a sandbox-style game that throws Nintendo's famous plumber into environments from the real world.

Super Mario Odyssey will be launching in the Holiday 2017 on the Nintendo Switch and will include a whole new adventure in what appears to be the real world.

"Mario leaves the Mushroom Kingdom to go on a new sandbox-style journey," as described by Nintendo Producer Yoshizaki Koizumi. He showed off the new title during the Nintendo Switch Presentation, and it was first fore-tasted in the Switch's teaser trailer in 2016.

According to the Daily Express, Super Mario Odyssey is the first new Plumber-platformer to hit consoles since 2013's Super Mario 3D World.

Taking a leaf out of the Rareware platform game playbook, Mario's trademark hat looks more like a sidekick than an article of clothing. In the short teaser video, it was used for boomerang attacks, hung in midair as a moving platform and sported enormous puppy-dog eyes.

But if it wants to borrow from Banjo-Kazooie then it's fine. While the specs are yet a little murky, Nintendo also mentioned Mario's hat would have special features exclusive to the Switch, reports CNET. Nintendo has also announced that the new Nintendo Switch console will launch worldwide on Friday 3rd March.

The package will consist the main console, Joy-Con (L) and Joy-Con (R) controllers, a Joy-Con grip, to which two Joy-Con are attached and used as one controller, a set of Joy-Con wrist straps. And a Nintendo Switch dock, which holds the main console and connects it to a TV, a HDMI cable and an AC adapter.

Two versions of the console will be released: First version with a set of grey Joy-Con, and the second version with one neon blue and one neon red Joy-Con. The package will be priced at £279.99 on the Nintendo Official UK Store.
