Samsung has always given preference to its flagship devices in terms of the rollout of Android updates. Since the company has already rolled out the Android Nougat update for its current flagship, the Galaxy S7, it is expected to roll out the update to the previous generation of Galaxy devices.

The nougat update coming for Galaxy S6 confirms when the Android Nougat update for the Galaxy S6 is recently given certificate by Wi-Fi Alliance, a non-profit that certifies Wi-Fi products, emerged last Friday.

Another proof of the Galaxy S6 is getting Android 7.0 Nougat update is when it was recently surfaced in a GFXBench benchmark. Moreover, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ Android Nougat update's also popped up in recent benchmarks.

The Galaxy S6 was among the list of devices which were expected to get the update in the first half of 2017. All variants of the device including the Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus were included in the list.

Android Nougat is expected to bring all tremendous features such as a multi-window, performance mode and Always On display to the Galaxy device. The update is also said to increase download speeds for apps and software updates.

Another feature that will come with the update is Samsung Pass, a fingerprint-enabled feature that will work as a master key for website login on Samsung devices. Users will now be able to login to selected websites and apps using just their fingerprint rather than filling in credentials.

Last year, the Marshmallow bundle has began to reach the Galaxy S6 line in mid-February. While Android updates are hardly ever straightforward, those still rocking the S6, S6 edge or S6 edge+ should hope that Samsung can repeat that feat and have Nougat ready during the next few weeks. We will keep updating you on the further proceedings.
