Blu has released a brand new Android smartphone, the Vivo XL2, which was first spotted last month at CES 2017. Succeeding the original Vivo XL from last year, the Blu Vivo XL2 is an attractive large handset with modest features, but definitely not bad for its price point.

The original success of the BLU Vivo XL was attributed to its high-end phenomenal design, performance. At a price point never before available, leading to ramble reviews from customers and experts, becoming one of the best-selling unlocked smartphones of 2016.

With this, the New BLU Vivo XL2 has added important improvements in technology, while keeping the same $149.99 price point.

"The BLU Vivo XL2 was developed to enhance the end-users mobile experience with improved performance and design", said Samuel Ohev-Zion CEO of BLU Products. "We are committed to exceptional quality and craftsmanship; we achieve all of this through our passion for beauty and obsession with detail."

The Vivo XL2 features a 5.5-inch 720p display and has a micro pattern on the back that is creating "a metallic sunburst effect." The device is powered by a quad-core MediaTek processor.

The phone further offers DTS surround sound and 3 GB of RAM with 32 GB of expandable storage space, and a 3150 mAh battery. There's a 13 MP rear camera new Vivo, plus an 8 MP Selfie camera. The not so great thing about the handset is that it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and also it's not clear if it's going to be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat or not, reports Phone Arena.

The Blu Vivo XL2 can be purchased unlocked for $149.99, being available in two color variants: Liquid Gold, Midnight Blue. For a limited time, starting today at 11 a.m. EST, the phone will cost only $99.99.

The Vivo XL2 is a GSM/LTE device that means it will work on AT&T, T-Mobile and other GSM/LTE networks, but it can't be used on Verizon, Sprint, or US Cellular.
