With Ubisoft's brand new action fighting video game, "For Honor," scheduled to be released today, millions of fans who are playing its beta version have been sharing their experiences so far for those who have not yet tried out the game. Currently, there are thousands of gameplay videos online, which is not really unexpected given the more than 3 million participants in the game's beta.

However, what most players of "For Honor" had probably missed during their time clashing swords with history's greatest warriors is an Easter Egg that has been placed in one of the game's player-versus-player (PVP) maps. The Easter Egg was discovered by a Reddit user named Lacront, who was the first to point out a part of a map that apparently paid homage to a stage on one of the games in the "Mortal Kombat" franchise.

Seen in the distance of one particular "For Honor" PVP map is a bridge with two figures. The two figures will be quite familiar for those who grew up playing "Mortal Kombat 2," as it is the background of the Pit II stage in the original game.

Clearly seen in the background is the character Blaze, a character that has been seen in "Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance," "Mortal Kombat: Armageddon," "Mortal Kombat: Unchained," and most recently on "Mortal Kombat X." Blaze is, of course, facing the character called "Hornbuckle," who is basically a palette swap of the sprite used for Liu Kang in the game.

According to VG247, the background image within the "For Honor" map is clearly intentional, which means that a developer within Ubisoft may be a big "Mortal Kombat" fan. "For Honor" is scheduled to be released today, Feb. 14, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. The launch of the game is expected to be quite an event, given the number of players that have already expressed their interest in purchasing the new title.
