Kate Upton's Victoria Secret Beef: 2013 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model Upset Over Old Bikini PHOTOS Used After Diss
Supermodel Kate Upton is reportedly "furious" with Victoria's Secret because they used her image in a recent catalog months, after the company dissed the model.
Upton, 20, is reportedly disappointed that Victoria's Secret used an old photo of the VOGUE cover model wearing one of their bras on the back cover of a catalog without her permission. Just a few months they denounced her looks in an interview.
When the photo of Upton wearing Victoria's Secret surfaced on websites on Tuesday, the image sparked rumors that she would become the next Victoria's Secret Angel. A source commented on the rumor on Wednesday and told New York Post's Page Six that "Kate's not currently contracted to work with Victoria's Secret, and they didn't contact her before they used these images."
The insider revealed that the photo was not taken recently.
"The pictures are from 2011," the source added.
Enstars reported that the casting agent for the Victoria's Secret fashion show, Sophia Neophitou, told The New York Times, "We would never use Ms. Upton for a Victoria's Secret show."
She continued her critique of the model.
"She's like a Page 3 girl," Ms. Neophitou said, referring to voluptuous women featured in The Sun, a London tabloid, according to the article.
"She's like a footballer's wife, with the too-blond hair and that kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy."
Since the report came out in February, Upton appeared on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue for the second year in a row. She also landed the most highly coveted gig for all fashion models, the cover of Vogue.
The Florida native flaunts her curves on the front of the June 2013 issue wearing a print bathing suit and strappy high-heel sandals with tousled hair and fuller eyebrows. In the magazine's cover interview, Upton spoke to writer Lizzie Widdicombe about the criticism she has received for her curves in a modeling industry where her most successful counterparts are very thin.
"The things that they're rejecting are things that I can't change. I can't change my bra size," Upton told Vogue. "They're natural! I can work out and I can stay healthy and motivated, but I can't change some things. I love my body. It's what God gave me! I feel confident with myself, and if that inspires other women to feel confident with their bodies, great."
