Oscars 2017: Gift Bag Projected To Cost Over $260,000, Includes Vacations, Makeup & More [VIDEO]
Getting to go to the Oscars is a distinctive honor in anyone's career, but many are especially looking forward to the goody bag at the end of the night.
This year's Oscar goody bag is even more absurdly expensive than ever, coming in at a whopping $260,000 per bag. The impressive haul comes complete with several free vacation trips, a 10-year supply of makeup, weight loss pills, a smart home system and much more.
Here's a breakdown of everything that's included in this year's Oscar goody bag, according to Yahoo:
$62,000 - 10-year supply of Oxygenetix makeup
$28,750 - 3-night vacation to Lost Coach Ranch in California
$3,920 - 3-night vacation to the Grand Hotel Tremezzo in Italy's Lake Como
$1,960 - 10 physical training sessions with trainer Alexis Seletzky
$1,585 - 6-day vacation at South Shore in Hawaii's Kauai
$785 -Oomi smart home system
$410 - Haze Dual Vaporizer
$43 - Dandi Patch sweat patch
$39 - Hydroxycut Platinum weight loss pills
$6.50 - Chapstick (1)
The bag also includes a personal CPR kit from CPR Anytime and 12 cases of apples from Opal that reportedly never turn brown.
The goody bag is only given to Oscar nominees, but this is still over 100 goody bags given out in total.
Distinctive Assets puts together the goody bag, and founder Lash Fary told the Daily Mail recently that celebs often reach out to make sure it's delivered to the right address.
"Some celebrities will get in touch to make sure we have the correct address to send the gifts to," he said. "It all depends on who is nominated as each year we see new talent arrive, but everyone gets a bag."
However, as The Guardian notes, stars often turn down the gift bag because it is treated as income. The goody bag is not assembled by the Academy itself after a 2006 investigation from the IRS ruled that the bags were not given "solely out of affection, respect or similar impulses." The Academy stated that they stopped giving out bags because it seems "a little inappropriate to offer a gesture of thanks that then carried with it a [tax] obligation."'
The Oscars will air live from coast to coast on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 8:30 p.m. ET / 5:30 p.m. PT on ABC.
