'Pokemon Go' Update: Special Items, Drop Rates Evolution Stone & Berries at Pokestops [Video]
"Pokemon Go" latest update has opened up the all-new playing field for trainers. So from now onwards you can find new special items, including evolution items, and use them to help evolve Pokemon. But the major question here is how rare are these items and what are their drop rates and where can you find them?
The answer to this is, evolution items are used to evolve certain Generation 1 Pokemon into Generation 2 and they can be used with candy or on their own. In addition to the evolution items, "Pokemon Go" players can also find new types of berries to help them in catching the Pokemon.
The new "Gen 2" update adds a slew of new features to "Pokemon Go", you will find new UI changes, more avatar customization options, berries, and the 80+ Johto Pokemon of Gen 2. However there is still no word on the heavily requested trading features, but this is still a massive update to the popular augmented-reality mobile game, as per Gameranx.
According to Heavy, the evolution items in the "Pokemon Go'"update are Metal Coat, Dragon Scale, King's Rock, Sun Stone, and Up-Grade. In addition to the evolution items, there are also two new berries: Nanab and Pinap. Nanab can slow the movement of a Pokemon and make it easier to catch, while Pinap doubles the amount of candy you get from catching a Pokemon. You should remember, with this berries you can only use one type of berry on a Pokemon when catching it.
All special items coming with the "Pokemon Go" update can be obtained at Pokestops. But the drop rate for the evolution items appears to be pretty low when compared to the drop rate for the new berries. If you are visiting Pokestops regularly and haven't received any special items yet (especially evolution ones), don't despair. As some trainers are pointing out, the evolution items appear particularly uncommon.
One trainer on Reddit, smokinapplepie has mentioned that he visited 20 different Pokestops and didn't get even one evolution item. And CosmicPrankster also said that he spun 50 Pokestops and got 10 new berries but no evolution items. However, a few lucky gamers are saying that they only stopped at one Pokestop and got an evolution item on their first daily Pokestop spin.
The exact drop rates are still unknown, but it appears you are much more likely to get the new berries from Pokestops than the evolution items that appear to be pretty rare in most cases. Some trainers have reported having better luck finding evolution items. So you might pay attention to whether you get a special item when you hit this point or when you do your first daily spin of the day in "Pokemon Go."
