‘Horizon: Zero Dawn’ News: Early Reviews Are Out; Game Could Become A PlayStation Iconic Franchise
The early reviews for one of the highly anticipated games in 2017 for the console, "Horizon: Zero Dawn," are finally out. And it seemed like many reviewers liked what they saw from the PlayStation 4 exclusive title developed by Guerrilla Games.
"Horizon: Zero Dawn" will put players in the shoes of the female protagonist, Aloy, in an open-world game set in the far-flung future, according to Giant Bomb. Fans will have to fight off different kinds of animal-like machines with bows, arrows, traps and potions.
"Horizon: Zero Dawn," as said in the early review, is structured similarly to Ubisoft's most recent franchise installment "Far Cry Primal." Players will have to hunt and craft materials found throughout the land in order to survive, as well as allot skill points earned from leveling up to learn new abilities.
In terms of settings, particularly its open-world aspect, VentureBeat expressed in its review that the world of "Horizon: Zero Dawn" is mysterious and interesting. Those who enjoy exploring big worlds and learning stuff from the adventure will definitely like the upcoming title.
The report even went on to note that "Horizon: Zero Dawn" could potentially become a PlayStation iconic franchise. It was said there that the game should be included alongside "God of War" and "Uncharted," and many other popular and memorable PlayStation exclusive titles.
As for how long "Horizon: Zero Dawn" will last, Forbes mentioned that 30 hours of gameplay would only cover the main quest, and camps and dungeon clearing. Experience farming - possibly to reach the maximum level cap the game offers - collectible hunting and acquiring gold medals from hunting challenges are not included. This could mean that players will have to allot a substantial amount of time in order for them to completely finish the game.
"Horizon: Zero Dawn" is scheduled to come out on the PlayStation 4 on Feb. 28. Those who will buy the game should expect to see a day-one update with a file size of 250 megabytes (MB) that focuses on PlayStation 4 Pro performance mode.
