Lion King, released by Walt Disney Pictures in 1994, will finally be seen on the big screen once again with the planned remake by Disney. The Lion King remake features Donald Glover as the new Simba, the future king known for getting into trouble most of the time, because of his penchant for testing his capabilities.

The remake of the animated classic Lion King was announced by Disney as early as September last year, and fans have shown their excitement for new updates on the movie since then. Aside from new actors, the movie will be a lot more modern than the previosu version as it will take advantage of CGI animation to make the characters and setting more realistic.

Lion King is just one of the several musical animation movies in Disney's remake lineup which includes "Cinderella", "The Jungle Book", "Pete's Dragon" and "Beauty and the Beast" among other, according to Huffington Post. The remake will still be helmed by director Jon Favreau of the "Ironman" and the "Avengers' fame.

Expect the Lion King remake to be more modern with lots of fun, especially after Favreau revealed his new directorial job through Twitter with the use of emojis. The Lion King remake will still have James Earl Jones reprising his role as Mufasa. Jones made a mark as the regal Mufasa in the original Disney movie, not just for his deep voice reminiscent of Darth Vader, but also for his stern but loving father characterization of Mufasa.

Glover's reboot role in the Lion King is not the first for him though, as he is also reprising Lando Calrissian's role in the "Han Solo Star Wars" movie, also a Disney franchise. Glover earlier won two Golden Globes, and with his new character as Simba, expect the actor to become a household byword in the next few years, according to Cinema Blend.

The new Simba in the Lion King has many aces up his sleeves including upcoming appearances in various movies such as "Spiderman: Homecoming". Glover will, however, be doing a movie voice for the first time through the Lion King remake. His future young fans would be delighted to know he is also a rapper known as Childish Gambino.
