More details about the upcoming new "Fairy Tail" feature film, titled "Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry," has now been released. After having been teased about its production, fans of the franchise finally now have confirmation about the possible plot details of the movie and the characters that are involved.

Several new images have just been published on the movie's official website. The very first teaser trailer for "Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry" was also included on the website, which has revealed to fans that the manga will indeed be moving towards its final chapters called the "final arc." Based on the trailer, it can be deduced that much of the story following the events of Hiro Mashima's original manga series could very well be explored in the movie.

The trailer further points out that the Fairy Tail mages will finally be heading toward the climax of the conflict between good and evil. Natsu is even shown in the trailer having half of his body transformed into a dragon, likely in preparation for a final battle. According to Anime News Network, Mashima himself is quite involved in the production of the new movie. The report also reveals that Mashima actually drew a total of 193 pages for the storyboard for "Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry." The manga's creator also serves as the executive producer for the film and was in charge of creating its key visuals.

Original voice cast members for the previous movie and the anime have already been revealed to return for the "Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry." The returning cast members include Tetsuya Kakihara as Natsu Dragneel, Aya Hirano as Lucy Heartfilia, Rie Kugimiya as Happy, Yūichi Nakamura as Gray Fullbuster, Sayaka Ohara as Erza Scarlet, Satomi Satou as Wendy and Yui Horie as Charles. The new character's voice cast has unfortunately not yet been announced.

"Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry" is scheduled to be released in Japan on May 6. The movie is directed by Tatsuma Minamikawa and is distributed by GAGA.
