"The Winds of Winter" release date is an on-going topic in discussions among fans. Many are starting to get frustrated because until now, there is still no word as to when the new novel is arriving to the market. Based on rumors, author George R.R. Martin delayed the book's release to add a major twist to the story.

According to Stars Post, George R.R. Martin came up with an exciting plot twist so there will be some changes in the events and storyline in "The Winds of Winter." Needless to say, rewriting some details will entail extra time so the novel cannot be released just yet.

It was further said that the author wants to make the novel fresh and more entertaining for the readers thus the twist was added. Some suggest that the turn of events in the story may have something to do with a character that was already dead in the "Game of Thrones" television series.

Speculations also asserted that it is possible for the popular fantasy series to show some spoilers for the "The Winds of Winter" novel. Likewise, Martin may reveal the twist via GoT but of course viewers will not be able to guess about it until they read the novel version.

In any case, Blasting News reported that 68-year-old author originally want to release the "The Winds of Winter," his sixth novel, prior to the airing of "Game of Thrones" Season 6. However, the series' seventh season is coming soon already and the novel is still in the works so fans cannot help but be a bit frustrated.

Meanwhile, besides the speculations on when the "The Winds of Winter" is going to be launched, the latest news is that it might happened on George R.R. Martin's 70th birthday. Many reasoned that his special day is one of the perfect days to unveil the much-awaited novel.

Fans believed that this is not impossible since his birthday is still a year away. It means there is still a lot of time to finish the book. Finally, if this is correct, "The Winds of Winter" is coming on Sept. 20, 2018.
