Zayn Malik News & Update: Former 'One Direction' Member Releaved Anxiety And Eating Disorder
Zayn Malik finally opens up about the anxiety and eating disorder he had while touring with his former group, One Direction. Zayn explained that he felt the need to control some areas of his life due to his schedule.
In an interview with The Times, Zayn Malik revealed that he has finally conquered his eating disorder, thanks to his time away from the limelight. Zayn also gave credit to his family for helping him overcome his struggle. "It was a control thing. Every area of my life was so regimented and controlled, it was the one area where I could say, 'No, I'm not eating that.' Once I get over the control, the eating just came back into place, supernaturally," he said.
The former One Direction member is said to have suffered mental health issues that prevented him from performing live since his solo career was launched one year ago. After Zayn Malik left One Direction and was launched as a solo artist, he developed an anxiety which made him unable to perform and led to the cancellation of his series of live shows.
In an article previously published by The Sun, Zayn Malik had to pull out his first European solo show minutes before because of his crippling anxiety. The show was for Capital FM's Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium. Three months later, his second gig at Dubai's Autism Rocks was also canceled. Zayn admitted to his fans that he still didn't feel "sufficiently confident".
Aside from the support Zayn is receiving from his family, he is lucky enough to have a girlfriend who supports his battle. Gigi Hadid took to Instagram to publicly show her support for her singer boyfriend.The two were said to have been a couple since 2015. In an article published by E! News, Zayn Malik admitted that they have been living together in his Bel Air home for a year now. He also mentioned though that he has not taken Gigi to Bradford yet but has already met his family a few times in London.
Zayn Malik was previously engaged to Perrie Edwards, however, their four-year relationship and two-year engagement ended with just one text message sent by Zayn to Perrie while the latter was celebrating with her bandmates and friends in London.
