'Outlander' Season 3: Jaime & Claire's Journey Continues, Gabaldon Shares Her Inspiration For Heughan's Character
"Outlander" Season 3 is set to premiere. The production already moved from Scotland to South Africa. It is hinted that Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jaime (Sam Heughan) will reunite in the upcoming season.
Movie Pilot reported that the previous season of the series ended with Jaime and Claire separated from each other. Jaime had to stay in the past because he needs to fight at the Battle of Culloden. Claire, on the other hand, needed to go back to her present life. "Outlander" Season 3 returns with the events that were left off previously.
Claire is back in the present with her husband Frank (Tobias Menzies). This time, she is also pregnant and will start a new life with her husband. "Outlander" season 3 will also take Jaime and Claire on a voyage to the West Indies. The upcoming season is based on the "Voyager" book by Diana Gabaldon.
The production of "Outlander" Season 3 already wrapped up its set in Scotland. The remaining scenes being shot as of this time will all be set in South Africa. However, there are hints that they will be back in Scotland right after the scenes.
According to Econo Times, Jaime will meet other women in "Outlander" Season 3 before reuniting with Claire. There are also new characters to be introduced in the upcoming season. Cesar Domboy will portray the role of Fergus and Lauren Lyle will be Marsali.

Meanwhile, The Scottish Sun reported that Diana Gabaldon shared her inspiration for Sam Heughan's character in "Outlander" Season 3. Gabaldon noted that the character has been inspired mostly by her husband.
