The official synopsis for "Agents of SHIELD" Season 4, Episode 17 titled "Identity and Change" has officially been released by ABC. And judging by what was announced, it seems like the episode - the one after the premiere titled "What If..." - might get very interesting.

ABC made the official announcement for "Agents of SHIELD" Season 4, Episode 17 on a recent press release, according to Screenrant. The network teased the fate of both Daisy "Quake" Johnson (Chloe Bennet) and Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) inside the framework. "As Daisy and Simmons struggle to discover an escape route to the real world, the identity of the Inhuman leader of the Resistance is revealed," the synopsis wrote.

The network also released a new photo for "Agents of SHIELD" Season 4, Episode 17 depicting Grant Ward (Brett Dalton) inside a high security tunnel. The publication seems to think that the Inhuman resistance and the photo released by ABC are somehow related to each other. For one, though, if the tunnel is in fact the base of the resistance, then Ward could actually be working with the good guys.

Unfortunately, all fans can do for now is speculate as ABC did not into further details about "Agents of SHIELD" Season 4, Episode 17. That being said, it's best to take this with a pinch of salt and wait for the official updates to be released.

Meanwhile, the premiere for the third act for the series, "Agents of SHIELD" Season 4, Episode 16, is now scheduled for release next week. It will continue where the show left off - specifically when Daisy and Jemma infiltrate the framework. Inside this virtual reality, all of the characters are living a different life. One example is Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), who is now a professor, as seen on the illustration poster relayed by Flickering Myth.

"Agents of SHIELD" Season 4, Episode 16 "What If..." will air on the network on April 4. While its next episode, "Identity and Change" isn't due to be out until April 11.
