Marvel has slowly been building up the events of their previous comic book issues to lead up to their newly announced crossover event called the "Secret Empire."

To further elevate the anticipation for the new Marvel comic book arc, the company has now released a brand new teaser trailer for the series.

According to CBR, the brand new series will be focusing on Captain America as he is brainwashed into fighting for Hydra. The former Sentinel of Liberty will be showcased in a battle against all of the other heroes and teams in the Marvel universe as he leads the charge to achieve Hydra's diabolical plans.

The recently released trailer shows several interviews with the series' writer Nick Spencer and Marvel's senior vice president of publishing Tom Brevoort. Spencer reveals that they have apparently been working on getting to the series for quite a long time. Brevoort also explains the background of the story and how they will be showcasing all of the Marvel's heroes banding together to take down one of their own.

According to Screen Rant, Marvel has promised fans that the crossover series will be their last crossover event as they will likely be moving in an entirely different direction moving forward. The first few issues of the new arc will be showcasing the story of how Hydra was able to convince Captain America to join them.

The official synopsis for the series reveals that Red Skull was able to convince the sentient cosmic cube called Kobik to warp Steve Roger's reality and make it so that he has always been a member of Hydra. Several superheroes and teams, including the Avengers, the Guardians, the X-Men, and Spider-Man have to set aside their differences to take on the new foe that threatens to tear them apart from within.

"Secret Empire" Issue #1, which is written by Nick Spencer and drawn by Steve McNiven, Andrea Sorrentino, Leinil Yu and Daniel Acuña, is set to be released on May 3. Digital copies of the new issue will also be made available on Marvel's official comic book website.
