The upcoming brand new X-Men television series adaptation by 20th Century FOX, joining FX's ongoing "Legion" series, is now running on full steam. The production team has reportedly now cast the different roles for the series. FOX's untitled X-Men television series will be telling an entirely different original story that should introduce new fans to the world of mutants.

According to Screen Rant, the brand new series will be revolving around a couple who are on the run from government agents that are after their mutant children. In a strange turn of events, FOX has chosen to create brand new characters for their new series, despite there being already hundreds of X-Men and mutants to choose from. Among the characters that have been confirmed to appear, only two are taken straight out of the comic book franchise.

The two characters are Blink, played by Jaime Chung from "Sucker Punch," and Polaris, to be played by Emma Dumont from "Bunheads." Blink is more famously known for her appearance in the X-Men movie, "X-Men: Days of Future Past," where she was played by Fan Bingbing. Polaris, on the other hand, is the daughter of Magneto in the comics. She also shares her father magnetic powers and has been showcased as a villain when she was possessed by an evil entity.

Aside from the two, the rest of the characters that have been revealed so far are all original creations. Stephen Moyer from "True Blood" will be playing the role of Reed Stewart, the father of the main family. A report from The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Moyer will be acting alongside Amy Acker from "Person of Interest," who will be playing his wife, Kate Stewart.

Other confirmed cast members include Blair Redford as a mutant in hiding, Natalie Alyn Lind as Lauren Stewart and Sean Teale as a mutant called Eclipse. FOX has yet to announce a release window for the new series, but seeing as that they have already picked their cast members, the series could be coming out very soon.
