Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner officially file for divorce
It has been almost two years since Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have decided to split, however, the couple had just officially filed for divorce recently.
The "Live By Night" actor and the "Miracles From Heaven" star have surprised fans about their split a day after their 10th anniversary. Now, they are seeking joint custody for their three children, Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel.
Apparently, the pair has remained as good friends and they even co-parent their three kids. A source even said on CNN that "They had always planned to divorce but just needed time. As always, their children are their first priority."
In 2003, Affleck admitted that he fell in love with Garner when they were filming the movie "Daredevil. After a year, the two started dating and in 2005, they finally tied the knot. Meanwhile, the "13 Going On 30" star has been married and divorced with Scott Foley. On the other hand, the "Argo" star has canceled his engagement with Jennifer Lopez.
However, after 10 years of marriage, Garner and Affleck decided to part ways.
"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce," the former couple said in a joint statement. "We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time."
The two also said that their statement will be the first and last comment that they will share in public as they would like to keep everything only between their family.
Until then. the couple was spotted with their children happily. This formed speculations about the possibility of Garner and Affleck to reconcile.
The "Justice League" actor even called his wife as the "World's Greatest Mom" at a Times Talk. Meanwhile, Affleck also shared that he has completed his therapy for alcohol addiction.
