Whenever Nintendo announces that it is hosting a live stream featuring new games, a typical day is instantly transformed into a hype filled event building up to the showcase and last night was not the exception.

Nintendo Direct's stream Wednesday featured the upcoming games Arms and Splatoon 2 on the Nintendo Switch. In case you missed the stream, we have got you covered with all the important details. If you want to check out the direct first though and come back after for our thoughts, the video is below.

The direct was pretty short, only about 22 minutes, but in the showcase multiple bombshell announcements were shared. We took the liberty of compiling the biggest three announcements for you below. Check them out!

1- Splatoon 2 Single Player Showcase- We knew based on previous announcements that Splatoon 2 was going to feature a campaign mode for single players, but last night we got further details on an additional brand new story mode. The new mode is an adventure quest that tasks the player with going on a quest to help Squid Sister member, Marie. The story behind the quest is being kept under wraps, but fans have been guessing it might have something to do with other Squid Sister member, Callie. Along the way the player will have to fight their way through lots of squid enemies to uncover the plot behind Marie's plight. The visuals, as usual per Nintendo's standards, look as incredible as ever.

2- Arms Global Testpunch Announced- At the end of the presentation Nintendo announced that they will be holding an online global demo event for Arms throughout the coming weeks. Various dates for the event were announced, you can find more information on the Nintendo eShop.

3- Customizable Arms Characters- One of the best part of Arms is it's wide roster of characters. Even better is the wide range of customizable abilities that Nintendo showed off. We hope there will be more DLC in the future with even more ways to customize our heroes.

So those are our thoughts, what are yours? Which moment from the Nintendo Direct were you most hyped about? Let us know in the comments below.
