America's Got Talent Season 12 Upcoming Premier Hypes Tyra Banks and Promises Life Changing Moments (VIDEO)
Ahead of the May 30, 2017 premier date for season 12 of America's Got Talent, the gracefully aged show is promising to deliver memorable moments that will continue to enamor viewers. The premier will also mark the debut of new host, Tyra Banks, who will take over the role after Nick Cannon quit in February due to a controversy regarding racial comments he made on a Showtime comedy special.
"America's Got Talent is back for a brand new season," judge Howie Mandel said in a recent preview. "All brand new talent, all brand new excitement, and we have a brand new host, Miss Tyra Banks."
The panel of judges will be the same as last year and along with Mandel will include Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell, who also serves as an executive producer. While she reportedly needed a special push from her mother as a newcomer to the show, Banks is excited to get started.
"I call my mama and I said 'Mom, I have the opportunity to host America's Got Talent, should I do it?'" Banks explains. "'She's like call Mr. Cowell and tell him yes yes and yes!'"
America's Got Talent will continue to premier on its home network of NBC for the upcoming iteration. The premier is scheduled to air at 8 p.m. and will kick off a summer of intense eliminations in the march to the finale, where one contestant will be crowned the winner and walk away with the one million dollar grand prize.
