'American Made' Trailer: Tom Cruise Stars As A Drug Smuggling Pilot (VIDEO)
The trailer for Tom Cruise's new movie, American Made, was released yesterday and fans across social media are already getting hyped. The film, starring Cruise as Barry Seal, is a biographical retelling of a man's life and how he transitioned from an airline pilot to a CIA worker and drug runner.
Additional celebrities featured in the movie include Sarah Wright, Caleb Landry Jones and Domhnall Gleeson.
"My name is Barry Seal," Cruise ominously explained in the trailer's opening moments. "Some of this sh-t really happened."
Balancing his family obligations and work, Seal wanted more out of life. His friend and fellow CIA member, Monty Schafer, persuaded him to join the CIA.
"A pilot like you shouldn't be flying buses," Schafer, played by Gleeson, explained. "Haven't you ever wanted something more, Barry? You should be serving your country."
This is not the first time that the film has been making waves across the internet.
American Made has made headlines in the past when the film was originally titled, Mena. In 2015, a deadly plane crash occurred on the set and two crew members were killed while another was seriously injured.
The crew members that died have been identified as Alan Purwin and Carlos Berl.
While fans are excited about this movie, many are still waiting for more news about the upcoming Top Gun sequel.
While the name has recently been announced as Top Gun: Maverick, fans are still patiently waiting for more news.
American Made will be hitting theaters on September 29, 2017.
