Mrs. Houghton, If You Nasty: Adrienne Bailon Says She Doesn’t Wash Her Hands
The ladies of The Real are known to be very frank and open about their personal lives. However, there are certain things that shouldn't be revealed because it can overshadow a co-host's individual brand.
The Subject Matter
Case and point, during a segment, titled, Girl Chat: People Against Dirty, the co-hosts watched and gave their feedback on a public service announcement (PSA) actress Tiffany Haddish did with the organization People Against Dirty. In the PSA, Haddish watched (via a hidden camera) if people washed their hands when they immediately came out of bathroom stalls. The results were damning. Some people washed their hands without soap while others passed the sink as though it was nonexistent.
Afterward, The Real had a fan, LaTasha, video chat with them about the importance of washing your hands after using the bathroom. Tamera Mowry-Housley, Jeannie Mai, and Loni Love applauded LaTasha for her detailed explanation of why it is healthy for people to wash their hands. While her co-hosts clapped, Adrienne Bailon sat quietly not following suit.
Bailon's Revelation
Bailon then asked her co-hosts and LaTasha if they wash their hands when they use the bathroom at home. Everyone said "yes," in unison. "Why does Adrienne ask questions like this," Mai expressed. Bailon nervously sipped her Apple Cinnamon martini and shared that she doesn't wash her hands if she's using her home bathroom. LaTasha told Bailon she needs to start washing her hands after she uses the bathroom even if she's at her house.
"Not at home. What did I touch? It's my house. The toilet paper touches my behind. I don't touch my behind. Not this skin," Bailon responded.
Bailon went on to say that even though she doesn't wash her hands after using the bathroom she never gets sick. She also mentioned that both her mother and sister work at Cornell University Hospital and how they told her germophobes are prone to get sick more often because of their cleanliness. Although there is truth in not excessively washing your hands or other body parts because your immune system needs to fight against germs and infections on its own, the audience and Bailon's co-hosts weren't buying into her reasoning to not wash her hands when she's at home.
People on social media weren't, either.
The news of Bailon's little-known secret completely overshadowed the fact that the singer released a single off of her new Christmas album, New Tradiones.
It seems, however, that Bailon's true fans don't care about her hygiene habits and only care about the music she produces. New Tradiones is currently the Number One album in iTunes' Latino musical genre category.
