Is Justin Bieber To Blame For Selena Gomez’s Family Issues?
Over the last couple of weeks, there have been several reports about Selena Gomez's ongoing family feud over Justin Bieber.
While some reports claimed Gomez's family members did not approve of her reunion with Bieber, others said the singer was fighting with her family members, including mom Mandy Teefey, because of him.
Now, E! News has pointed out that the "Wolves" singer's love life and her relationship status with Bieber are not what's causing all the family drama.
Just Bieber Isn't The Reason Behind Selena Gomez's Family Feud
Multiple sources told the publication that Gomez has shared a complicated relationship with her mother long before her reconciliation with Bieber.
"Selena has always said that the one person that means the most to her is her mom, Mandy," the source said. "But still, they've had a really complicated relationship and have gone through a lot of ups and downs."
Tenuous Relationship With Parents After Firing Them As Managers
The insider added that Gomez and Teefey did not speak to each other for as long as a year after the "Fetish" songstress had dropped her and stepdad Brian as her managers three years ago. It apparently led to a huge fallout between Selena and her mother, to the point that she wouldn't even allow the singer to talk to her other family members.
The source further revealed that Gomez's mom and stepdad did a lot for her, so when she let go of them as her managers, it did not only affect them professionally but also hurt them emotionally.
Reconciliation With Mother
The source also claimed that Teefey really struggled to get her and Gomez's Netflix series 13 Reasons Why off the ground because she "lost her clout as a manager after Selena left." However, the insider added that the mother-daughter duo eventually set their differences aside and reconnected.
In March, Gomez and Teefey, who served as executive producers on the Netflix drama, walked down the red carpet together at the show's premiere.
Bieber Helping Selena Deal With Family Problems
The source also pointed out that Bieber is helping Gomez through her family issues. He does not want to be the reason behind any more problems between the mother and daughter.
Reports of Gomez and Bieber's reunion first started doing the rounds in October after the pair was spotted together on more than one occasion. The couple sparked rumors of getting back together in November when they were spotted kissing each other days after she and The Weeknd split.
The loved-up couple has since been pictured jetting off on a private jet together and also took a romantic trip to Seattle recently. Although Gomez and Bieber spent Christmas apart, they are planning to ring in the New Year together.
