Blac Chyna Lawsuit Against Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner Tentatively Dismissed
On Thursday, Jan. 18, Judge Randolph M. Hammock granted Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian temporary relief in the lawsuit Blac Chyna filed against them and Rob Kardashian in October.
Chyna had sued Jenner, Kim, and Rob, alleging that it was their fault E! decided not to move forward with the second season of her reality show, Rob & Chyna. Following this, the Kardashians requested for a dismissal of the case.
"Defendants Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian West's demurrer to the first amended complaint is sustained," Hammock wrote, according to court documents obtained by People.
"There was no enforceable contract to have a second season," the judge said about the E! reality show. "When there's no contract, Blac Chyna did not have a right to have a second season."
Blac Chyna's Lawsuit
Chyna is Rob's ex-fiancée and the pair share a 14-month-old daughter named Dream Kardashian.
In her lawsuit, she claimed the Keeping Up with the Kardashians stars sought to get the show canceled intentionally, interfered with contractual relations, and defamed her.
The Kardashians' Demurrer
In December, the Kardashian clan responded to Chyna's lawsuit by filing a demurrer disputing the suit and asking the judge to dismiss the same, as previously reported.
The Kardashian family held that Chyna herself was responsible for the cancelation of Rob & Chyna as E! could not possibly proceed with filming because of a restraining order she obtained against Rob in July.
The order barred the Arthur George sock designer from contacting the former stripper and also required him to stay away from her workplace and home.
In October, she filed a separate lawsuit against her ex-fiancé, claiming that he not only damaged her brand but was also verbally and physically abusive towards her, which Rob has denied.
Judge Gives Blac Chyna A Second Chance
Even though Hammock granted Jenner and Kim their request, he did give Chyna's legal counsel, Lisa Bloom and Vanessa Hooker, a chance to amend their allegations in the lawsuit and present it in court at a later date.
Despite suffering a minor setback in her legal battle against the Kardashians, Chyna is not giving up just yet. A source told Radar Online that the 29-year-old is going to "go back and try again."
"Chyna is going to fight back against this and fight against this judge," the insider added.
