Marvel has just dropped a brand new sneak peek from its upcoming teenage superhero saga, Cloak & Dagger, which debuts on Freeform in June.

In 2016, the series received a straight-to-series order from Freeform, which was formerly known as ABC Family.

'Cloak & Dagger' Sneak Peek

The studio released the footage of the upcoming series at the first Freeform Summit at Neuehouse Hollywood on Thursday, Jan. 18.

The three-and-a-half-minute video clip shows a meet-cute between the show's two lead characters; Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph).

In the clip, Bowen bumps into Johnson at a party, causing her to spill her drink on him, getting them started on talking, and eventually, some flirting. They part ways after a brief conversation but Johnson later realizes that she deliberately collided into him in order to steal his wallet.

A chase ensues through a cemetery and just as the two of them touch hands, Bowen emits a powerful light from her hand, which knocks both of them to the ground. Bowen can then be seen examining the glowing light coming from her hand while Tyrone stares at his own palm.

The Plot

The upcoming Marvel series is based on the titular comic book characters who made their debut in a 1982 issue of Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man, before headlining their own series of books.

The series revolves around two teenagers, Bowen and Johnson, who have recently discovered that they possess superpowers that are mysteriously linked with each other. Bowen can conjure daggers made of light while Johnson can shroud people in darkness.

As a result they come together, but things start to get more complicated when they start developing romantic feelings for one another.

Cast And Crew

In addition to Holt and Joseph, the teenage superhero series also stars Andrea Roth (Blue Bloods), Gloria Reuben (ER), Miles Mussenden (Bloodline), MCarl Lundstedt (Grey's Anatomy), James Saito (Life of Pi), J.D. Evermore (The Walking Dead), Emma Lahana (Power Rangers Operation Overdrive), and Jaime Zevallos (American Horror Story).

Joe Pokaski, whose works include the sci-fi drama series Heroes, will serve as showrunner and executive producer for the project, which is produced by Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios.

Marvel's Cloak & Dagger is slated to premiere exclusively on Freeform on June 7, 2018. Check out Marvel's newly released sneak peek below:
