The Miami Heat beat the San Antonio Spurs with a score of 95-88 to clinch victory in the NBA finals.

Led by LeBron James, the Heat took the lead in the first quarter of Game 7 and later closed out the half with a two-point lead over the Spurs at a score of 46-44. Although the half saw a combination of 13 turnovers, the Heat sunk all three of their free-throw attempts and the Spurs netted 14 of their 15 chances.

The second half saw a 72-71 lead by the Heat as the game entered the last quarter. That lead was only secured by the three-pointer Mario Chalmers managed to net just as the buzzer sounded to end the third quarter. James aided the Heat by sinking 10 of his attempted 18 three-pointers. Meanwhile teammate Shane Battier put in 6.

Marking only the 18th time the NBA finals reach game 7 (the last was between the Lakers and the Celtics in 2010), the game was only the first time 28-year-old James had played in such a game. However, it resulted in the versatile player's second ring in his career.

This championship win give the Heat their second title in two years.
