Sarah Silverman, Michael Sheen 'Consciously Uncoupled' Over The Holidays
Sarah Silverman and Michael Sheen called it quits after four years of dating. The actress confirmed the split on social media on Monday and clarified that the separation was mutual.
Long-Distance Relationship
Silverman felt that she owes it to her friends and fans to let them know about her current relationship status, so she opened up about her breakup with Sheen on Twitter. She revealed that distance (Silverman is in Los Angeles while Sheen is in the UK) was the reason for the split. The couple could not keep up with a long-distance relationship, so they agreed to mutually part ways "over Christmas."

Her post received various reactions. Some expressed their dismay at the sad news, while others thought that it was unnecessary for her to talk about her private life.
"Sarah and Michael, sorry to hear that. I hope you two find happiness because you are both treasures," one fan replied.
"I'm sorry to hear that. He is hella hot and talented. In awe of both of your works! Michael, Music Within was amazing!" another commented.
"I feel like this is none of our business and I am sorry you feel the need/pressure to put your personal life out in the street like this. I wish celebrity didn't dictate a sort of public relations response to people's personal business," another user wrote.
Meanwhile, other men courageously asked Silverman out on a date on Twitter. One user named Wayne Rosso asked the comedian out for dinner on Friday night, and another named CoachShawn wants to take the actress out for dinner at Havana Central and then to a show at Caroline's on Broadway after.
Oceans Apart
Silverman previously referred to Sheen as her on-again, off-again lover in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel. When prodded for an explanation, she revealed that because they are oceans apart, he sometimes becomes his off-again boyfriend. She then revealed that The Master of Sex star had to move to the UK to be with his daughter who was turning 18.
"So he's there a lot, and then we just long for each other and we see each other and we love each other," Silverman told Kimmel.
Sheen has yet to release a comment about his split from Silverman.
