Old Friends Reunited

The Awkward Moment Seen Around The World
DeGeneres asked Mrs. Obama the question that was on everyone's mind: "What was inside the box?"
Mrs. Obama stated it was a lovely frame, and the notion left her confused. DeGeneres also stated that President Donald Trump did not even wait until First Lady Trump got out of the car to greet the Obamas. However, Mrs. Obama did not realize what happened because she was focused on the gift.
Hope And Birthday Presents
DeGeneres talked about how a significant number of people is frightened by the current events unfolding in Washington, D.C. Mrs. Obama told the audience not to let Washington D.C. politicians dictate how they should live their life, but to continue to show empathy and compassion.
She also gave several birthday presents to DeGeneres including a CVS basket containing Metamucil, the Perfect Push-Up, and a chia pet that was shaped like President Obama. Mrs. Obama also introduced a powerful video showcasing the highs and lows in DeGeneres's career, from her first appearance on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and her monumental coming out episode on Ellen. The video concluded by highlighting some of DeGeneres's humanitarian work.
Mrs. Obama's Previous Public Appearances
The Ellen DeGeneres Show may have marked the former First Lady's return to daytime television, Mrs. Obama has been active in the public eye.
On Sept. 27, 2017, the former First lady revealed her honest and harsh opinion about the women who voted Donald Trump into the White House at the Inbound 2017 marketing conference in Boston, Massachusetts.
"Any woman who voted against Hillary Clinton voted against their own voice. What does it mean for us as women that we look at those two candidates, as women, and many of us said, that guy is better for me, his voice is more true to me. Well, to me that just says you don't like your voice. You like the thing you're told to like," said Mrs. Obama.
Mrs. Obama also talked about President Trump's cabinet and added that the legacy of the Obama Administration was full of grace and not stirring up trouble on Twitter.
The First Lady also surprised Chance the Rapper at the 2017 BET Awards. While Mrs. Obama was unavailable to attend the ceremony, she left a video message that stated how much he is an inspiration to people who care about the next generation and that both she and former U.S. President Barack Obama were proud of his accomplishments.
She also paid homage to the late Mary Tyler Moore by admitting how much she admired her television character as a single woman and how she stood up to her boss in the workplace. Moore passed away in Jan. 25, 2017.
