Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez Date and Alleged Fight with Photographer Leads to Lawsuit
A photographer has filed a lawsuit against Canadian pop sensation Justin Bieber, claiming the 19-year-old kicked him in the abdomen after a date with then-girlfriend Selena Gomez, according to TMZ.
The paparazzi photographer, Jose Osmin Hernandez Duran, claims the altercation took place after Gomez and Bieber had dinner at The Commons upscale retail and entertainment complex in Calabasas, CA in 2012. Duran was shooting the then-couple, as Bieber was leaving the venue's parking lot in his Mercedes, when the singer allegedly grew angry with him and got out the vehicle and "delivered a martial arts-type kick ... in the lower rib cage on the left side of his abdomen."
Bieber then allegedly punched the photographer on the right side of his face after landing the kick and pushed Duran against a parked car, the suit states. After leaving the area, the legal document also states that Gomez returned to the scene to look for her cell phone and apologized for her then-boyfriend's behavior.
The lawsuit cites several alleged misdemeanors committed by Bieber, including assaulting a former bodyguard, bullying a woman, driving at a reckless speed in his gated community, stealing Duran's SIM card and threatening to kill a neighbor.
The paparazzo hasn't revealed a specific amount he hopes to claim in damages from Bieber.
Earlier this moth, Bieber had another run-in with another member of the paparazzi On Jun 17, the entertainer apparently pinned a phototgrapher against a parked car, while driving his white Ferrari as he left Los Angeles' Laugh Factory club. The incident left the paparazzo with a gash on his leg, and Bieber drove off without checking with the photographer to make sure he was ok. Los Angeles police questioned Bieber and his representatives about the incident but found the pop star wasn't at fault because the photographer was technically a pedestrian who shouldn't have been in the roadway.
