Gigi Hadid And Zayn Malik Split: Former One Direction Singer Reportedly Wanted To Marry Her
Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik confirmed their breakup earlier this week on social media following over two years of dating and now, it appears Hadid may have dumped the singer.
In a new report, it is noted that Malik was completely convinced that he and Hadid would ultimately get married and have children together. So, when their relationship ended, he was said to be quite devastated by the ordeal.
“Zayn is heartbroken over his break up with Gigi, he thought he was going to marry her," a source told Hollywood Life on Wednesday, March 14, adding that Malik is still in love with the model.
The insider went on to say that Malik was completely wrapped up with the model and even proposed to her numerous times when they were dating. Now, Malik questions whether or not Hadid knew he was genuine and sincere when it came to his proposals. That said, he still wishes that Hadid had said "yes" to him when he asked for her hand in marriage.
As for why Hadid reportedly turned Malik's proposals down, the source claimed Hadid feels she is too young to settle down and has a lot that she wants to accomplish before she starts having babies.
Continuing on to Hollywood Life, the source said that while Malik is crushed by his breakup from Hadid, he is doing his best to channel his heartbreak into song and has reportedly been inspired by the split. The insider also said Malik has been writing a whole lot since his split and is also considering ways to possibly win Hadid back.
Hours after news of their breakup first hit the web, Hadid took to her Twitter page to confirm the news and share an official breakup statement.
“I’m forever grateful for the love, time, and life lessons that Z and I shared," she wrote. "I want nothing but the best for him and will continue to support him as a friend that I have immense respect and love for. As for the future, whatever’s meant to be will always be.”
As for Malik, he also seemed to address their split on Twitter. However, he didn't do so in such a positive way on Instagram, where he wrote, “When life throws you lemons, catch [them] so they don’t hit you in the f***ing face.”
