Blake Shelton Says Spending Time With Gwen Stefani's Children Made Him Realize He 'Missed Out' On A Lot
Since Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani began dating in 2015, they have become one of the most-liked couples that are still currently together.
The two haven't been shy about their public affection for each other. From posting pictures of each other to sharing a kiss on stage, it's clear both Shelton and Stefani are head over heels for each other. The pair have been vocal about their past marriages as well, but Shelton is opening up about one regret he has now that he's hit a certain age.
Blake Talks Kids
The singer commented on what it's like being involved with his girlfriend's children on the Today show Tuesday, March 20. Stefani has three children -- Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo -- by her ex-husband, singer Gavin Rossendale. Stefani's children adore Shelton, but he said it's the not the same as having his own.
Shelton stated on the show that spending a lot of time particularly with Stefani's son has made him realize what he missed out on.
"At this point in my life, I kind of had put [having kids] as like, 'Well, that wasn't meant to be.' Then all of a sudden it happens one way or another and it's like, 'Wow, I missed out on a lot.'" Shelton stated.
The 41-year-old country singer continued that having Stefani's children is "so much fun."
Shelton stated in November that having Stefani's children around him has helped him gain "dad instincts."
"For a long time, it was awkward trying to figure out what my place is and in their mind, too. The best part for me, selfishly, is discovering a part of myself that I guess I never really knew was in there. It's definitely an instinct that kind of kicks in," Shelton continued.
Shelton did not have any children with his ex-wife, country singer Miranda Lambert.
Gwen And Blake's Romance
The two singers have been the subject of media scrutiny ever since they become public with their relationship. Despite reports that the two have broken up, Shelton and Stefani haven't been more happy together.
Shelton divorced Lambert in July 2015 and Stefani divorced Rossendale in April 2016. Shelton and Stefani began dating after appearing on the singing competition show, The Voice.
