Maci Bookout Talks To Catelynn Lowell About Their Miscarriages On 'Teen Mom OG'
Catelynn Lowell and Maci Bookout were seen discussing their 2017 miscarriages on Monday night's episode of Teen Mom OG season 7.
Following a rough 2017, Lowell entered rehab to address thoughts of suicide, which were prompted by her miscarriage, and during her stay, she was visited by her longtime co-star and friend. However, Bookout didn't know in advance what had happened and was caught off-guard by the news.
"Me and Tyler actually got pregnant and then I got a miscarriage,” Lowell said, according to a report from People magazine on March 26.
Maci Bookout Miscarried Her Fourth Child
As fans well know, Bookout suffered a miscarriage in 2017 as well, so the news of Lowell's miscarriage hit close to home.
“Taylor and I also had a miscarriage this year,” Bookout replied. “It’s tough. We haven’t told anyone. I think it’s another one of those things, it doesn’t make the pain easier, but it just makes the experience easier to talk about.”
Catelynn Lowell's Traumatic Miscarriage
During another scene, Bookout was seen chatting with Lowell's husband, Tyler Baltierra, about her progress and said that she's steadily improving each time he visits. As he explained, Lowell was deeply impacted by the loss of their child.
Baltierra then described the actual miscarriage as "traumatic" and said he's never seen Lowell so afraid in his entire life.
According to Baltierra, his wife has been dealing with intense emotional pain because of her loss and he feels that he can't do anything about it. He also stated that Lowell had been questioning her decisions in the moments leading up to the miscarriage, even telling him that she shouldn't have run to the car while pregnant.
After Baltierra revealed his wife had been blaming herself for the loss of their child, Bookout said she had been doing the same and wondered if God actually found her unworthy of being her lost child's mother. She then told Baltierra that she simply trained her mind not to go to that dark place of doubt.
Catelynn Lowell Enters Rehab
Lowell sought treatment in rehab after experiencing suicidal thoughts after her miscarriage and chose to chronicle her journey on Teen Mom OG. Since then, Lowell has returned home to her family, which includes husband Baltierra and their 3-year-old daughter Novalee Reign.
