John Krasinski Jokes About London Customs Agent Who Didn't Believe He Was Married To Emily Blunt
British actress Emily Blunt’s husband, John Krasinski, laughed off a London customs agent who couldn’t fathom the idea of him being married to The Devil Wears Prada star. Krasinski dished on his run-in with the agent during a recent interview.
Customs Agent Disses John
Krasinski joked that he’s fully aware Blunt is out of his league. He added that in case he ever forgot that, he had an encounter with a customs agent in London to remind him. He detailed his experience on The Tonight Show recently.
“It was going great, the whole customs experience," said Krasinski, who was in London to support his wife as she taped Mary Poppins earlier this year. “He looked like he was ready to get a little surly with me.”
Krasinski, who has made a name for himself in Hollywood after starring in the popular series The Office, said the agent didn’t care about his resume. The agent pointed out that Krasinski’s card labeled him as an actor. Krasinski then revealed he was in the American version of London's The Office.
“Strike one!” said Krasinski. “[The agent] was like, ‘Oh, you took what we did, perfect.’”
Things didn’t get better when the man asked Krasinski why he was in London. Krasinski held off on name-dropping Blunt and said he was in the area to see his wife. Still, the agent went on to ask who she was and if she was famous. Krasinski didn’t get the kindest response when he revealed to the agent that Blunt is his wife.
“You? You married Emily Blunt?” Krasinski said the agent asked with amazement. “Go. Just go.”
The Dynamic Duo Is All Good
Fortunately for Krasinski, fans will get to see him and Blunt on screen together in their horror film, A Quiet Place, set to be released Friday. Krasinski said he’s grateful the two of them were able to work well together, or else they could have gotten divorced like a handful of other celebrities.
Krasinski, who also directed the film, said he fell even more in love with Blunt as they worked toegether. He said it forced them to trust one another in a way they never had to before and added that Blunt’s skills made him forget that they were even married to one another.
Krasinski and Blunt are set to celebrate their eighth wedding anniversary this summer.
