Aaron Hernandez's murder case has all the elements of a scripted crime drama: intense media speculation, a beautiful young bride of the accused, a high-profile defendant with alleged gang ties and now--the death of a potential witness in the case.

Polcie were interested in speaking to Thaddeus Singleton III, who died in a car crash, about Hernandez's possible role in a double homicide, according to The Hartford Courant. The Nissan Maxima Singleton was travelling in was registered to Hernandez's uncle Andres Valderrama, according to the report. Singleton, who hailed from Hernandez's hometown of Bristol, CT., served time in state prisons on several drug-related convictions dating back to the mid-1990s. Police also discovered, while investigating the crash, that Singleton was married to Hernandez's cousin Tanya Valderrama.

Police said the car Singleton was driving jumped the curb, hit an electrical pole and smashed into the Farmington Country Club in Farmington, West VA. Singleton died as result of the injuries he suffered in the accident and a female passenger identified as Tabitha Perry, 27, was injured in the crash, Farmington police said.

Hernandez is being investigated in connection with a 2012 double homicide in Boston. Massachusetts police believe, Hernandez alleged victim Odin Lloyd, may have had information about the ex-pro athlete's possible involvement in the murders.

Massachusetts investigators have sought out assistance from police in Bristol for help in the investigation, according to the report.

In another salacious twist in the Hernandez case, Bristol County Sheriff, Thomas M. Hodgson, said yesterday he wouldn't allow the 23-year-old to marry his fiancé, Shayanna Jenkins, while incarcerated, according to USA Today.

Massachusetts state law states Jenkins would not have to testify against Hernandez if the couple were married when she potentially takes the stand.
