‘Ungrateful Brat’: Kendall Jenner Accused Of Throwing Shade At Topshop
Kendall Jenner just can't catch a break. The supermodel and second-youngest sibling in the Kardashian-Jenner clan is getting flak from fans for dissing Topshop.
Ashamed Of Her Past?
The awkward moment came midway through an interview with Vogue, ahead of this year's Met Gala, where Jenner stunned in a white jumpsuit.
The supermodel was taking part in a fun little "get ready with me" piece for the iconic fashion bible and was trying to convey how her style had changed over the years.
"I went with Topshop... It was cute... It was years ago," she recalled.
She was referring to her first appearance at the event, clad in a satin mermaid dress by the super-cool brand that originated in London.
The fact that Jenner, who was an up-and-coming model then, was even invited to the Met Gala was a massive deal, and that she's seemingly looking back with disdain, rather than fondness, on her decision to wear an affordable, mall-favorite brand didn't go down too well with fans.
Worse still, Jenner and sister Kylie founded a fashion line with the brand back in 2015.
Sensing The Tone
Fans couldn't help but note her tone, which they deemed slightly offensive.
"This girl is an ungrateful brat. She didn't deserve to go to the MET period, let alone with Topshop," wrote one in response to the video.
Another fan pointed to how Topshop gave Jenner the chance to appear at the event and that she should have shown more appreciation.
"They were the first to give her the opportunity, you think she'd be appreciative," one added in response.
There was also an accusation leveled at the Keeping up with the Kardashians star that maybe she was ashamed of the brand because it's not as high-end as the likes of Chanel.
"Why does she sound embarrassed when she went with Topshop??? Come on, that was an amazing opportunity at her age at the time. WTF?" wrote one user.
Not Her Best Year
The theme of this year's Met Gala was Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination. Jenner wore Off-White by Virgil Abloh for the event.
This isn't the first issue that the supermodel and reality star has found herself in, in relation to the event, either.
She was also caught pushing an assistant out of the way because he got in her the way of her photo.
Jenner is no stranger to controversy, having come under fire for her involvement in a now-infamous Pepsi advert deemed racist and completely tone deaf.
Likewise, her recent appearance in a song alongside abuser Chris Brown received much criticism.
