Blac Chyna’s Assistant Taken Off Life Support After Stroke As Her Family Plans Wrongful Death Lawsuit
Blac Chyna could find herself in some legal trouble regarding her assistant. The woman is taken off life support and her family blames Chyna.
Total Lack Of Support
Page Six reports that a source close to Lorena "Patty" Hernandez, former assistant and house manager of the reality star, confirmed she had had a third brain bleed and been pronounced brain dead as of last Monday.
Hernandez's husband is preparing to start legal proceedings against Chyna for allegedly abusing his wife and failing to provide her with worker's compensation.
"Remember when the news broke and she said she was helping [Hernandez] and she was helping the kids and everything? She never did. I mean all she pretty much did was spread the word and reach out to her baby daddies," the source revealed, referring to Chyna's public statement at the time.
The reality star's exes and fathers to her two children, Rob Kardashian and Tyga, both made donations to a GoFundMe page set up to cover Hernandez's medical costs and to help her children during the difficult time while their mother was in the hospital. Tyga reportedly donated $5,000 while Kardashian gave $10,000.
According to the source, Chyna hasn't even been to the hospital to visit Hernandez.
"She was only there the first day when they found her at Lashed, but the only reason she came to the hospital was to tell the doctors and everyone not to give out any information to anybody. After that she never came back," the source advised.
Taking Her Off Life Support
Hernandez had a seizure at Chyna's salon, Lashed, in January of this year. An officer from the L.A. fire department confirmed at the time that they'd received a call for medical assistance and one patient had been transported to the hospital as a result.
According to the source, Hernandez's family took her off life support yesterday. In the meantime, Chyna reached out to try to work with them, but Hernandez's family's lawyers advised against it.
"The lawyers said not to go along with it and just to let them handle everything. So I guess she just got really upset and called and she was just being horrible," reported the source.
A Difficult Time
Hernandez suffered a severe brain hemorrhage after collapsing at Lashed. She was five months pregnant at the time and subsequently fell into a coma. The former assistant to the reality star and model was just 34 when she was taken off life support.
She suffered a stroke back in July of last year, which rendered her partially blind, but Hernandez continued to help run Chyna's clothing line, 88 Fin, regardless. She continued working against doctor's orders to ensure she could provide for her three children.
Then, in December, she suffered a severe head bleed that left her unconscious and led to her having to terminate a pregnancy. The January brain bleed was far stronger, however, and soon left her brain dead.
Her family plans to file a wrongful death lawsuit against Chyna in the coming weeks. The 30-year-old has yet to make a statement about her assistant's death, but she is reportedly engaged and expecting a child with her 18-year-old boyfriend, rapper YBN Almighty Jay.
