Despite his struggles in the playoffs this year, the San Antonio Spurs have allegedly signed Argentinian shooting guard Manu Ginobili to a two-year deal, according to a tweet the NBA veteran posted today.

Ginobili played all 11 years of his career with the Spurs, but rumors of his retirement surfaced after the two-time NBA All-Star shot just below 40 percent during the 2012-2013 playoffs. Though his team had a successful postseason run, making it all the way to the finals before losing to the Miami Heat in seven games, Ginboili's overall play was sporadic. The alleged deal comes as only somewhat of a surprise, in light of the loyalty the Spurs have shown to their "big three" of Ginobili, Tim Duncan and Tony Parker. (The Spurs have not commented on the Ginobili deal publicly).

Ginobili's signing comes just a day after the Spurs agreed to terms on a new four-year, $36 million deal with big man Tiago Splitter. ESPN's Marc Stein reported San Antonio is also interested in landing versatile small forward Andre Kirilenko, who played for the Minnesota Timberwolves last season. The Spurs have a good chance of landing the Russian swingman, becasue the Wolves will not re-sign Kirilenko and instead agreed to a four-year deal with former OKC Thunder guard Kevin Marti, according to ESPN.

The Spurs seem dedicated on bolstering their front line, in light of reports about their interest in Kirilenko as well as former No. 1 overall pick Greg Oden. A source told ESPN that San Antonio is one of several teams, including the Miami Heat, Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers, in the running for the injury-stricken big man.

Oden hasn't played in the league since 2009 because of several knee injuries and averaged 9.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 82 career games. The former Ohio State player is reportedly confident about playing in the opener of the 2013-2014 season.
