A pair of food-themed shows are premiering this Fourth of July week, as BBQ Crawl and Donut Showdown make their debuts.

Just in time for Independence Day celebrations, the series BBQ Crawl premieres on the Travel Channel on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET in search for the best barbecue offerings. The show will be scavenging for the juiciest burgers, sauciest ribs and most loaded hot dogs around the nation.

Hosting the show is the Canadian BBQ champion, Danielle Dimonvski, known as "BBQ Diva Danielle." Dimonvski goes on a road trip in this summertime show. First up, she visits Louie Mueller BBQ in Taylor, Texas, and then competes at the Bedford Blues and BBQ Festival in Bedford, Texas. Staying in the south for the following episode, Dimonvski is expected to visit Arkansas.

While the Fourth of July is known for BBQs, the other food show premiering Thursday focuses on donuts. Competing for viewers' taste buds this week, the Donut Showdown premiered Wednesday on Food Network at 10pm ET. The show will air again on July 6 at 9 pm ET

Each episode sees three of the best donut makers from across North America test their creativity in their kitchen. Their first challenge is to create a batch of donuts that includes three ingredients from a surprise selection of unexpected ingredients. The show's three expert judges will taste and send one of the donut makers home. The remaining two contenders must now make a monster batch that's based on a theme dictated by the judges, to determine who will be the week's winner of $10,000.

The competition includes several food professionals. Michelle Edgar, is from the Sweet Escape Patisserie in Toronto, which is known for its pumpkin pie doughnut. Another contestan, Del Hernandez, is a founder of Frost Doughnuts in Mill Creek, Wash., home to a concoction called a maple bacon bar. The third, Dawn Lee, is a founder of the Donut Cooperative in Minneapolis.
