Kristen Bell Explains Why She Wears Gloves In the Swimming Pool
Kristen Bell reveals one of her deepest and weirdest secrets. Thanks to husband Dax Shepard, the Veronica Mars star is exposed.
Unconventional Swimming Accessory
Comedian and actor Shepard took to Instagram to share, in typically hilarious fashion, that his wife wears gloves in the pool.
The 43-year-old posted a shot of his 37-year-old wife clad in a black patterned bikini, shades, a hat, and gloves.
"My bride wears gloves in the pool because she hates the feeling of pruney finger tips on skin. #Hollyweird #iloveher," reads the caption.
Bell is shown holding up her hands to proudly show off the accessory so Shepard can better capture the moment. The method to her madness has nothing to do with keeping her hands young either, as Bell elaborated to USA Today.
"I don't know if you'd call it a tick, but when pruney fingers touch other skin, I have a gag reflex. ... When I'm in the pool with my children ... I have to respond maternally, I have to reach for them," she admitted.
The Good Place actress's best friend suggested she try special gloves so she can save her kids if necessary but not be subject to her gag reflex upon touching them.
For Bell's part, she is not ashamed of the weird habit because it gets the job done.
Getting Really Real
She and her hubby are hitting the road this coming fall for a live tour of his super popular Armchair Expert podcast, so naturally, more secrets are sure to be revealed in the process.
The happy couple got married back in 2013. They have two daughters, Lincoln, 5, and Delta, 3. During a talk show appearance earlier this year, Shepard admitted the two do not have a prenup.
He was more successful than her at the time, but thanks to Bell's appearances in Frozen, Bad Moms, and now NBC super hit, The Good Place, the tables have turned.
"The joke is on her now because she's become much more successful than me and has much more money than me!" joked Shepard.
The Parenthood star previously revealed the two attend couples therapy to keep their relationship in check. Shepard credits alone time with his wife, scheduled in whenever possible, as well as prioritizing each other to ensure they stay on track.
Bell herself admitted that monogamy is difficult because she still finds herself attracted to other people. She believes that honesty is the best policy, where two openly tell each other when they fancy someone else.
The actress also divulged that although her kids are the center of her world, they are also disgusting creatures in which one of them even giving her pinworms recently.
The couple is not planning to have any more kids either. Shepard underwent a vasectomy following a pregnancy scare a few years back.
