Atlantic City Fireworks 2013: July 4 Fireworks Show Schedule, Best Places to Watch
Atlantic City is gearing up for its fireworks display for the Fourth of July on Thursday, and there are two locations where people can enjoy them.
The "DO AC Fireworks Spectacular" is taking place at the Atlantic City Boardwalk and Marina at 9:30 p.m. The show is free and will be 20 minutes long. The presentation will include 10,000 multicolored fireworks that will take place at four different areas. These locations include the beach near New Hampshire Avenue, Martin Luther Kind Boulevard, Hartford Avenue and the Marina District.
The shows, which will be visible throughout the Absecon Island, are described as "visually stunning" and "beautifully choreographed" by AtlanticCityNJ.com.
"Everywhere you look, you'll see fireworks," Liza Cartmell, the president of the Atlantic City Alliance, which is organizing the event, said in a statement. "We're delighted to be able to produce a fireworks spectacular that incorporates the entire Tourism District and provides great viewing areas throughout the island."
The show will also be hosted by New Jersey's 95.1 WAYV radio station.
"Fireworks in Atlantic City New Jersey are always the biggest and the best! Especially when Fireworks by Grucci put on a show in four locations simultaneously," the station wrote on its Facebook fan page.
A second free show will be held at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. That show begins at 9 p.m. and the viewing area will take place at the North Expansion surface parking lot. The lot opens at 6 p.m.
Following the fireworks, Atlantic City party-goers can enjoy some more entertainment. DJ Afrojack will be performing at the HQ Nightclub at the Revel Casino Hotel at 10:00 p.m. General admission for the event is $60 and $75.
Some of those attending the fireworks show seem excited for the presentation judging by their tweets.
"Spending the day in Atlantic City and seeing fireworks on the beach later," wrote one user.
"Atlantic city today watching fireworks down at the beach," tweeted another.
