Elisabeth Hasselbeck, 'The View' 2013 Co-Host, Leaves Final Episode with a Tearful Goodbye [VIDEO]
Elisabeth Hasselbeck hosted her last episode on The View Wednesday and said her goodbyes to her fellow hosts and the audience.
Hasselbeck is leaving The View after 10 years for a new hosting job at Fox and Friends, as Enstars reported Tuesday night. It was confirmed that Wednesday would be her last episode on the talk show.
At the beginning of Wednesday's episode, the 36-year-old mother of three was ushered to the roundtable by co-host Barbara Walters. Hasselbeck confirmed that it was her last day on The View and thanked her co-hosts for the memories.
She told co-host Whoopi Goldberg, "You are even more loving than you are talented," explaining that she feels blessed to call herself a friend of Goldberg's.
Moving on to co-host Joy Behar, Hasselbeck explained, "Joy and I have spent the past 10 years sparring over politics, but you know I have the most insane amount of respect for you." She said that she loved Behar's ability to throw in a one-liner to make her laugh even when she didn't want to.
"Barbara," she continued talking directly to Barbara Walters, "I did the math last night and I think I've had over 3,000 days working by your side, and I think it's fair to say that, over the course of a decade, I feel as though I've attended the Barbara Walters School of Broadcasting and Journalism."
Walters appeared to be touched by Hasselbeck's words.
"Truly," Hasselbeck added, "because of all you have taught me, I was prepared to interview political candidates, I was prepared to interview President Barack Obama for the fourth time."
She concluded that she feels even more prepared for her new position going forward in her career. She also thanked the audience for continuing to watch her on the show.
"I wasn't the first person to sit in this chair. I certainly won't be the last person to sit in this chair. The past 10 years have been nothing short of extraordinary, and I wholeheartedly wish the next person or co-host that sits here an extraordinary set of years of their own to come."
Walters explained that Hasselbeck always brought a fresh voice to the table and that her position on the panel would not be filled any time soon.
