Kate Middleton Baby Bump, Due Date Update: Duchess Camilla Hopes Royal Baby Will Be Born By 'End of the Week' [PHOTOS]
As the world is awaiting the arrival of Kate Middleton and Prince William's baby, their family is just as anxious to meet England's future King or Queen.
During a visit to Little Harbour children's hospice at Porthpean near Cornwall on Monday, July 15, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall shared an update on the imminent arrival of their grandchild.
"We are all just waiting by the telephone," Camilla, 65, said in a speech to guests via Daily Mail. "We are hopeful that by the end of the week he or she will be here."
Until then, the mom-to-be left London's Kensington Palace to go stay at her parent's house in Bucklebury, Berkshire on July 12 to escape the summer heat.
St. Mary's Hospital is ramping up their security measures just in time for the royal baby's arrival.
Per the The Guardian, Kate's posh room in the Lindo Suite requires a £5,500 deposit (which is around $8,600) for a normal delivery package. Consultants' fees are not included, and £1,000 ($1560) is the cost for each extra 24 hours stayed. The Daily Mail estimates Kate's stay could end up costing up to £10,000 ($15,659).
Presuming Kate goes into labor while at Kensington Palace, the duchess would be transported from Kensington Palace in West London to the hospital in Paddington which is located in Westminster, E! News reported.
The medical team assigned to deliver Kate and William's first child will be led by Dr. Marcus Setchell, Queen Elizabeth II's former gynecologist, who will be assisted by Dr. Alan Farthing, the queen's current gynecologist and surgeon.
When the little prince or princess arrives, an announcement will be made to the public and a notice placed on the gates of Buckingham palace will reveal the baby's gender.
Royal sources confirm that Prince William is expected to be right by his wife's side through the delivery.
