An image of Martin Luther King Jr wearing a hoodie after the George Zimmerman verdict has gone viral.

Nikkolas Smith created the illustration that shows the African American civil rights leader wearing a grey sweatshirt, similar to the one Trayvon Martin wore when he was shot and killed by George Zimmerman on Feb. 26, 2012 in Sanford, Fl.

The image was tweeted by former Obama advisor and civil rights activist Van Jones had and been retweeted by hundreds of thousands users of Twitter.

"April 4th, 1968 #RipTrayvonMartin," Smith captioned the image. The date indicated the day when King was assassinated in Tennessee.

According to The Daily Mail, the image is also posted on Smith's website, with the message, "The Dream will never die. It is more powerful than fear or violence. It can never be swindled away or destroyed. It is one of Love, and therefore timeless."

The Trayvon hoodie became a symbol of the moment seeking justice for Martin after Zimmerman was acquitted of second-degree murder and manslaughter Saturday. Many celebrities, politicans and athletes wore hooded sweatshirts to support Martin's family.

Througout the trial, the hoodie was used as evidence which included a bullet hole in the front of the sweatshirt Martin was wearing on the night he died.

A jury of six women took a little over one day to come up with a not guilty verdict.

Enstars reported earlier that Juror B37, who has yet to reveal her identity appeared on CNN's Anderson Cooper on Monday and expressed a great deal of sympathy for Zimmerman. She said that she believed his version of the events that took place on the night when Martin was gunned down.

"I think George Zimmerman is a man whose heart was in the right place, but just got displaced by the vandalism in the neighborhoods, and wanting to catch these people so badly, that he went above and beyond what he really should have done," the former juror said.
