The cast of Star Wars VI reunited for the first time since the seminal move was released 30 years ago, according to Mashable.

The actors who played the characters Boba Fett, C-3PO, Chewbacca, Emperor Palpatine, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Wicket the Ewok were all in attendance on Thursday at the Star Wars Celebration, the annual Lucasfilm-sponsored fanfest, in Essen Germany.

It's only the second time in the 14-year history of the event that it has been held on the European side of the Atlantic. The latest installment of the film franchise Star Wars Episode VII, will also have a European connection when it begins filming in the United Kingdom.

Though the franchises' creator, George Lucas, revealed months ago that inaugural cast members Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia Organa), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) and Harrison Ford (Han Solo) will reprise their roles in the latest version of the film, none of the cast were allowed to talk about Star Wars Episode VII, which is set to arrive in 2015.

Details about the new Star Wars film have been kept secret for the most part, but latino-review.com reported the movies director Director J.J. Abrams is interested in actors Ryan Gosling and Zac Efron for major roles. Gosling will be recruited to play the son of Luke Skywalker, and in a previous report the site revealed that Hollywood megastar Leonardo DiCaprio was also offered a role in film, but turned the opportunity down.

Gosling's fans shouldn't start marking their calendars for the film's release in 2015, however, because a rep for the actor told the New York Daily News that the Latino Review report is "not true."

The denial correlates with the actors claim earlier this year that he planned to take a break from his career.

"I've lost perspective on what I'm doing," he told The Associated Press in March. "I think it's good for me to take a break and reassess why I'm doing it and how I'm doing it. "
