J.R. Smith seems to have a lot of free time on his hands, as evidenced by his interaction with Twitter Fans today.

The New York Knicks shooting guard recently underwent knee surgery and probably can't engage in his usual shenanigans in the real world, so he took to the social media world to have some fun. On Friday the 27-year-old engaged in a Jay Z-esque spontaneous Q&A with his fans. Smith addressed topics such as the status of his surgically repaired knee, his younger cousin's deplorable behavior on social media and the secrets to his success. The former Denver Nuggets player also obliged fans seeking re-tweets and indulged some other requests from his female fans, which has got him in trouble in the past.

Knicks fans will be happy to know that when asked about the status of his knee, Smith shared some positive news.

"getting stronger everyday!" he tweeted in response to a fan's inquiry.

The Knicks announced on July 15 that Smith underwent two knee procedures: one to address his patella tendon and an arthroscopic procedure to fix a lateral meniscus tear. The team said the recovery period would be approximately three to four months, putting his availability for the Knicks training camp, preseason and 2013-2014 season opener in question.

But in the mean time, Smith is enjoying his downtime in his hometown of New Jersey.

"anyway moving thru ‪#NJ you see me ‪#HONK" he wrote on his Twitter page.

Smith also took the time to scold a teenage cousin, who he said was tweeting about smoking and drinking, and told a fan he "work[s] hard" to be the player he is today. Last season's NBA Sixth Man of the Year also showcased his notorious affinity for his female fans.

"let's go" was his response to ‪@griseltorres' requests for a date.
